Website translation
Show/Hide
In the "good ol' days" of the Internet, everything was English and
every Internet user spoke English. And a lot of people still think of
the Internet in those terms. Nothing wrong with nostalgia, but let's
have look at the state of the Internet today and the direction it is headed:
Based on last year's statistics, 70% of all Internet users (read
"potential visitors/customers of your website) DO NOT speak English.
Yes, you read that right. And this trend is not going away. While the
English Web is still growing fast, growth in non-English speaking countries
is at least twice as fast.
If you had a chance to go back 10 years in the past and change your
Internet strategy (no, you can't bring back lottery numbers), would you?
Well, it is happening all over again, but
this time in French, in Spanish... and of course in Chinese. Each of
these markets is set to at least double in size in the next 5 years.
Translation Solutions Ltd. is a solution provider. We can help you
by translating the relevant parts of your Website and bring your
content, products and services to a much larger audience.
We can prepare and translate files in most web formats, including HTML, XHTML
PHP, ASP, JSON, XML, SQL, template files,... thanks to PrepTags, a software developped
in-house specifically for this purpose.
Technical documentation
Show/Hide
If you have ever travelled in non-English speaking countries, you
have probably realized that English profficiency is significantly
overstated. The vast majority of of French people, for instance,
does not speak English, and "How douille iou do" is about as far as
most go.
And those who do speak English seldom speak it as well as you would
expect. Heavy machinery and faulty understanding don't mix well.
If you need your manuals and your documentation translated by
professional translators who *do* understand, contact us. We can translate
reliably a wide range of technical documents, from heavy machinery
manuals to software help files, from duct burners to pipeline
installation to printability testers.
Financial translations
Show/Hide
Financial reports, macro-economics analyses, market research, we offer a wide
range of translation services to the financial community.
Software Localization
Show/Hide
Translating software requires skills beyond the usual translation skills.
An otherwise good translator can wreak havoc in your software simply by
failing to understand basic programming "details".
For instance, if a translator doesn't know that & can indicate a
menu shortcut, you can be pretty sure that somewhere down the line
your localized software will have all kinds of shortcut conflict issues.
And an unfortunate quotation mark can generate a compilation error.
And let's not even get into the additionnal complexities involved with string lengths,
dialog sizes...
We can prepare your files to protect your code while making it easy for the
translator to do his job.
You have a project and it doesn't fit into the above categories?
We might still be able to help you. While this list reflects the main types of
projects we handle, it is by no means restrictive.
You can just ask a quote and we will let you know whether we can handle
your documents.
You have a translation project in mind and you would like to put a price tag on it?
Translation costs can vary significantly based on volumes, topic, file formats, due dates...
We have published some pricing guidelines here: translation prices, but if you have a specific project in mind, I recommend that you send us your files and get a free translation quote.
