Why not? Actually, one of the main advantages of being a translator is that geographical freedom. As work is done over the net, a translator can just as well work from a paradise island, can't he?

Thailand is quite a beautifull country, but also a very safe place to work from. Internet connections are sufficiently reliable, expenses are low, allowing for rates somewhat cheaper then those of my competitors throughout the net. To cap it, it is also the gateway to Asia, and a very good starting point for anyone wishing to visit that part of the world.
